Neuroscience Advocacy

Definition of “advocacy” (ˈadvəkəsē/)
noun:
advocacy - public support for or recommendation of a particular cause or policy.

Definition of “neuroscience”
neuroscience - is the scientific study of the nervous system.

Neuroscience advocacy initiative is aimed to increase the awareness of the importance of neuroscience research and education. This includes harnessing support among key policymakers, authoritative leaders and philanthropists to increase resources for research and public education concerning the brain and the nervous system. This encompasses both the healthy and disease-state brain in all stages of development; developing, adult and aging brains. An effective advocacy will lead to greater political will and enhance cooperation of people from various sectors (scientists, medical practitioners, multiple agencies, industries, non-governmental and governmental organisations). This will uplift neuroscience R&D to a greater height, improve treatment and provide better healthcare and delivery, with faster progress for the benefit of all humans and their wellbeing in general.
